Well I have blonde hair but I highlighted it blonde and it started to grow brown I guess and now there is there is like 6 inches of borwn hair at the top of my hyead and like 6 inches of blonde. Yeah. Just cut your hair, color it, then highlight it. It's not that complicated.

Naw it shouldn't be impossible.
Just make sure you're not coloring your hair too much lately, makin the stress on your hair bad.
