A lot of times long hair weighs down natural curls causing them to appear more wavy than anything. Cutting your hair might take some weight off, but if you straighten it regularly then the curls might never come back as tight. Shaving it completely might help it to come back. But I doubt you want to go Brittney Spears! LOL
