i am having my hair cut next week, and i want some highlights put in but i am not sure what colours to have.

i have got dark brown hair.

i was thinking about having blonde and a tofee colour.

what are your suggestions????

depends on ur personality...watever u think will look good....i like blonde highlights...but the toffe will look good too.....3 different colors..would look awesome...

if you want to brighten yourself up then yes have them done or go for red high lights it is coming up to christmas they will look fabulous...

i like the idea of the red highlights suggested by nigel - i think they will look fabulous!! i love sharon osbornes brunette with red highlights, it suits her and looks trendy and gorgeous - otherwise i'd go for the blonde, but don't incorporate too many colours just keep it to one main highlight colour that's my advice...

well, blond is a good idea and I'm guessing bronze too, but don't make it that blond. I think blond is the best choice for you, because u have dark skin, and it would be really beautiful for you, plus it'll make your skin shine .... :)

you have to be very careful about putting blond hilites in dark brown hair - it has a tendency of looking grey.

i would go for getting some hilites done with color (an ash color with 20 volume developer - less likely to turn red/orange).

do only a few around your face for a bit of *sun*.

You shouldn't go for such a dramatic colour change from your colour.

I recommend you go 1-2 tones light than your natural hair colour.

i think that you should have auburn coloured highlights. These will be noticeable but not too over the top. Maybe red would be a little too much but i think that its better if you have auburn :)

I think you should pick a few colors. Blonde, milk chocolate and some a bit darker, yet lighter than your hair. It'll make it look more natural, you won't have problems then the roots will start growing.
